The Chiminea is making a comeback in the Big Green Egg range. The original, based on the fire pits that have existed in Mexico and the southwestern states of America since the 16th century, was introduced in 1999. Production was discontinued a few years later, but demand remained strong.

 In honour of its 50th anniversary, the iconic patio heater is returning in a limited edition. This ode to fans and outdoor gatherings is a stylish addition to any garden. Dining in the garden as a couple or with the whole family? Friends or relatives visiting? The dancing flames of this cult classic create a cosy atmosphere. Beautiful summer evenings can be extended by the warmth radiated by the chiminea, and on cooler days, the fire in the chiminea makes outdoor gatherings cosy.

Like the Big Green Egg, the ceramic chiminea is manufactured using technology developed for NASA and coated with the characteristic Big Green Egg porcelain glaze. The patio heater stands on a sturdy base and is equipped with a spark guard with an acacia wood handle at the front. The unique design of the chimney cap adds to the experience. These steel parts are coated with a heat-resistant powder coating. The accompanying red lava stones, which are placed on the bottom of the chiminea, provide particularly long-lasting heat by absorbing and storing the heat and then releasing it later.

For easy lighting, use a few firelighters and charcoal lighter fluid, which you will of course already have on hand to light the charcoal in your Big Green Egg. Once the fire is burning, stoke it with larger logs, about 30 cm long. Now all that's left to do is enjoy!
