Every Big Green Egg cook has their own style. With the original wood chips, you can give your dishes a distinctive smoky flavor. You can either mix the (soaked) wood chips with the charcoal or sprinkle a handful over the charcoal. Or you can do both: it's purely a matter of taste. This also applies to the type of wood chips you choose: hickory, pecan, apple, or cherry.
There are the perfect wood chips for every dish. Walnut pairs well with red meat, turkey, and chicken. Pecan adds an intense, delicate flavor to fish and poultry. Apple adds a natural sweetness to fish, shellfish, and poultry. And cherry, with its mild fruit flavor, complements all dishes. One pack of wood chips contains 2.9 liters.
